Constitution Amendment Bill Passed
Kathmandu, May 19: The second meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today passed the Bill on Twelfth Amendment to the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2007, with majority.
Five hundred and thirty three CA members voted for the amendment while three voted against.
Out of the existing 595 lawmakers, 536 lawmakers took part in the voting.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Posta Bahadur Bogati, tabled the proposal in the Parliament for its passage.
This process has been adopted following an agreement among the political parties to pass the bill through a short process.
Speaker Subas Nembang directly forwarded the amendment bill for approval by the House as no lawmaker brought proposal seeking clause-wise discussions on the amendment bill.
The Parliament will next meet on May 20, Sunday.
