Police Release Cadres Of BMM

 

 

 

Parsa, May 24: Police released 23 leaders and cadres of Brihat Madhesi Morcha (BMM) this morning, who were arrested while waiting to vandalize vehicles of police escorting from different parts along Birgunj-Pathlaiya road section on Wednesday night.

 

According to Coordinator of the BMM and Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF)- Nepal, Parsa, Pradeep Yadav, police arrested around two dozen leaders and cadres  without specifying reasons.

 

The cadres demonstrated at the Power House Chowk in Birgunj to protest police suppression.

 

The BMM has called Madhes banda for an indefinite period from May 17 demanding 'All Madhes, one autonomous province'.

Normal life in Madhesh has been crippled due to the Madhes banda called for indefinite period by the BMM though bandas called in different places in the country were lifted.
