Agni Air Crash Near Jomsom Airport, Kills 15

Jomsom May 14: 15 people onboard were killed and 6 were injured when a Agni Air’s plane 9N AIG crashed as it approached Jomsom Airport for a landing on a Monday morning. Flight is on the way to Jomsom from Pokhara.

The accident site is near hill of Jomsom. The injured are being airlifted to Pokhara in Tara Air plane for treatment. They are said to be in a critical condition.

Among 21 people, 16 Indian nationals, 2 other foreign nationals and 3  crew members were on board.

According to Laxmi Raj Sharma, Chief District Officer of Mustang, 15 bodies have been recovered including the bodies of Pilot Prabhu Sharan Pathak and Co-pilot JD Maharjan.

However, the identities of the other deceased are yet to be known.

Six passengers including three children, two foreigners and an air hostess R. Haiju have been rescued alive.
