President Urges Major Parties For Consensus At Earliest

Kathmandu Aug 30:President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Thursday urged top leaders of the main political parties to promulgate the new constitution at the earliest at any cost including to end current political deadlock at Shital Niwas on Thursday.
At a meeting with top leaders of the three main political parties and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) held at his residence, Shital Niwas this morning, President Yadav pressurised the leaders to prepare a clear roadmap to end the political impasse.
Sources said the president pushed the leaders for forging consensus on one of the two alternatives—Constituent Assembly election or revival. President Yadav is also understood to urge the leaders to agree on various issues pertaining to the election—either CA or parliament—if the leaders agree for the same.
President Yadav has also hinted not to endorse any ordinance forwarded to him without the consensus of the political parties. The government had forwarded three ordinances to the president on Tuesday. President’s press advisor Rajendra Dahal informed that the ordinances were being analysed.
