Dr. Govinda KC's Health Deteriorating, Govt Keep Silence

Kathmandu, Aug. 17: Health condition of senior Orthopedist Prof. Dr. Govinda KC, working at the Orthopedic Department of the Tribhuvan University, Teaching Hospital, who is in fast-unto-death for the past five days, is deteriorating.
KC staged the fast-unto-death demanding that officials be appointed based on honesty, sincerity and seniority instead of on the basis of political sharing at important posts including the dean of the Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine.
All services except emergency service at the TUTH have been closed for the past four days after KC again staged the fast-unto-death.
Dr. Prem Khadka, who is involved in KC's treatment, said that KC's heath condition is deteriorating and has developed a problem of the lungs.
Dr. Khadka said that he is now feeling difficulty even while talking.Earlier too, Dr. KC had staged fast-unto-death from July 4-7 putting forth the same demands.
Dr. KC again staged the protest after Vice-Chancellor at the Tribhuvan University (TU), Hira Bahadur Maharjan, appointed Dr. Dharma Kanta Baskota, as a dean five days ago.
