Langtang National Park Under Fire
Dhunche, May 24: The Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force, the Nepal Police, officials in the Langtang National Park and the people nearby have been making continuous efforts to bring under control the conflagration that broke out in the Bhimili Area Forest under the Langtang National Park in Dhunche VDC, Rasuwa.
The inferno that started since last evening could not be brought under control due to strong wind in the area.
The fire has already engulfed 2,500 hectares of forest area, said Buddhiraj Pathak, the Forest Conservation Officer.
The area is the habitat of various wildlife including leopard, beer, wild boar and others. The details of the loss in the conflagration are awaited.
