RPP-N Leader Malla Passes Away
Kathmandu, June 12: Senior vice-president of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-Nepal), Hem Bahadur Malla has passed away this morning at the Norvic Hospital. He was 75.
He was suffering from heart and liver diseases as well as lung cancer. He was admitted to the hospital since 15 days.
Also known by the alias Shere Dhanusha, Malla was a member of the Rastriya Panchayat (National Legislature) for long during the erstwhile Panchayat regime. He was also appointed government minister at different times. He handled the ministries of forest and soil conservation, home affairs, land reforms and management, agriculture etc.
Malla and his wife Sarada were elected members of the then Rastriya Panchayat in 2043 B.S. This was his last stint at the member of the National Legislature.
He was the Senior Vice-President of the RPP-Nepal since 2062 B.S. He is survived by his two wives, a son and three daughters.
Leaders of the RPP-Nepal including president Kamal Thapa, among others, have reached the Norvic Hospital to pay tributes to the late Malla.
Malla's body would be kept at the party central office at Baluwatar from 9 a.m.to11 a.m. for paying of last respects. His last rites would be performed in the afternoon today at the Pashupati Aryaghat.
