Koirala Urged Not To See Every Party With Single Lense
Kathmandu, Aug. 11: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has urged all to judge the political parties on the basis of their merits rather than making hasty generalizations.
At a programme organized by the Parbat Development Society-Kathmandu in the capital on Saturday, President Koirala said that it would be biased to evaluate political parties, keeping them in the same basket.
He argued that once the real weaknesses of the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and the UCPN-Maoist were aptly pointed out, it would be easy to seek solution to the present crisis.
Leader Koirala further said, "As the UCPN-Maoist did not fully implement the agreements from the 12-point understanding to the recent five-point pact, the country could not rid of problems."
Government Secretary Balananda Poudel and former vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission, Dr Pitambar Sharma, said Parbat district should be developed as a model district in order to bring development in education, health, and biodiversity there.
Similarly, Chairman of the Parbat Development Forum Professor Dr Chandra Bahadur Shrestha unveiled a 17-point programme for the development of the district.
On the occasion, NC President Koirala released a book, Bikas Punja, published by the Forum.
