Himalyan sherpa enters in semi
SHIMARA, FEB 21 -Kunjan Gurung’s brace sealed Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club’s berth in the semi-final of the Third Simara Gold Cup Football on Monday. On their way to the final four, Yeti Himalayan Sherpa knocked Workers Martyrs Memorial Club (WMMC) 2-1 at the Simara Football Ground.
Himalayan Sherpa had taken the lead as early as the 10th minute when Gurung’s aim from the crowded D-box fired straight into net. Sherpa who dominated from the start of the game came back to much vigour in the second half as well.
Korean Jiang Joo fed an unmarked Gurung the pass as Himalayan Sherpa went on to double their score eight minutes into the second half. WMMC got a breakthrough in the 73rd minutes when a lapse in Himalayan Sherpa’s defense provided Jeevan Sinkeman the opportunity to open their account. Himalayan Sherpa’s coach said their will have to put up better performance in the semi-final. Himalayan Sherpa will take on Sahara Club in the semi-final on Wednesday.
